Thousands to Participate in Unprecedented Grassroots Movement for Comprehensive Immigration Reform
Over 650 House Parties Nationwide, 21 in Colorado, Underscore Voters' Commitment to Passing Immigration Reform
Colorado - On Wednesday,
November 18, tens of house parties will be held in Colorado, as part of
a nationwide tele-town hall event, continuing momentum for
comprehensive immigration reform legislation in 2010. Congresspeople
Luis Gutierez, Raul Grijalva, and Nydia Velasquez will discuss a
progressive reform bill that will likely be introduced in the next few
weeks.
Nationwide, tens of thousands of activists, families, friends, and
neighbors are expected to join. The teleconference is coming on the
heels of comments from White House Senior Advisor and Secretary of
Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, both of whom indicated the White
House is ready to push for comprehensive immigration reform in 2010.
Here in Colorado, house parties are planned in Boulder, Pueblo, Greeley, Denver, Durango, Longmont and numerous other cities.
The Reform Immigration FOR America campaign is convening the national
teleconference with Congressmen Luis Gutierrez, Raul Grijalva and Nydia
Velazquez to discuss a progressive outline for immigration reform
legislation that Representative Gutierrez is preparing and share
thoughts with families and communities directly.
