Support Colorado's Range Workers!

Help pass legislation in 2010

Existing federal laws allow range workers to be put at risk of unfair conditions and exploitation. Please support our legislation to raise wages and ensure basic protections!

ENDORSE THE CAMPAIGN TODAY

Potential legislation will ensure range workers make the minimum afforded other workers while supporting the state’s agricultural communities.  It will:

· Allow range workers to receive wages commensurate to those of other foreign agricultural workers working in Colorado under the H-2A visa program.

· Prohibit employers from keeping a range worker’s personal documents.

· Provide range worker access to bank account information.

· Ensure that no work-related expenses are deducted from the range workers pay, and that all deductions are accounted for with receipts.

· Allow the range worker a means of communication for safety and to contact family members, at no cost to the employer.

· Provide range workers with an informational packet in their native language.

WRITE KEY MEMBERS OF THE COLORADO ASSEMBLY TO SUPPORT PASSING THIS LEGISLATION.
